| Alright, so it's kind of like my whole life for the past 4+ years is
packed up in my Jeep right now. It's a bit insane. Ya see...I'm not
moving in until Satruday/Sunday.
Here's how it's goin' down:
The padres and I have a trip to Chicago that we leave tomorrow to go
on. They'll be doing some business and I'll be getting lost in the
city, which is one of my favorite things to do in a new place. Anyways,
we come back from Chicago on the 19th (Saturday) which is the day that
I was/am supposed to move in. Well, the end time for moving in is 6pm
and our flight is scheduled to arrive at 6pm. So I'm going to be
staying the night in the apartment with the other three guys on that
Saturday night with just a few clothes and my bedding, etc. My parents
are going to find a hotel room that night and plan to move me in on the
20th. It may be, though that I can get everything into the room on the
19th and they may not have to. I honestly don't have that much stuff.
I'm just worried about getting a good parking space, about getting my
key, and all of the little random things that you live with but hardly
realize how much you need them! Also, if the apartment doesn't have a
garbage disposal...I am going to be really really confused about what
to do with extra food on my plate.
Oh, and washing clothes is quite an ordeal! I have pretty much decided
I'm just going to throw a lot of stuff in, put a bit of detergent in
with it, and cross my fingers. It'll take a few mistakes to really get
the hang of it...right?
Anyways, in a few hours I have to break down my computer, which is not
a big ordeal but is...sentimental, and pack it up in the car also. Man,
that would really suck if my car got broken into at the airport while
we were gone.
Just realized that I haven't posted for quite a while, but maybe I'll
do that once I get on a high speed connection. It's going to suck
living in the apartment forever without any internet connection. I have
a feeling that we'll have to individually get our computers scanned and
registered for the network. SUCKS. I should also be getting a laptop
through the scholarship that I got, and I hope that I cna get it before
school starts. That way, if I don't have a connection, I can just go to
the San Francisco Bread Company on Markham and Bowman and do whatever I
want on the internet.
Long post. Much needed.

Reading this made me think of how hard the Mexican and South American
immigrants work in this country and how all that people can do is
complain about their presence. Maybe I just think this way because of
my love for anything Mexican, or Latin for that matter, but I just wish
that some people could open their eyes and try to imagine an America
without the influences and fresh ideas that are brought by immigrants
such as the Latin immigrants of today.
America...open your eyes...
Stereotypes only remain if you allow them to...
...Another thing that bothers me is when people try to "talk down"
about the Mexicans that are around here. They are awesome people who
have oustanding morals and would give and arm and a leg for anyone that
is even close to being their friend...
...Also...they are fun to drink with...
